Davorka Begović graduated in musicology from the Academy of Music, University of Zagreb. For the last 15 years she has been working in the field of culture and art as a curator and producer, mainly of music, but also of theatre, contemporary dance, multimedia and film projects. At the Student Centre Zagreb she held the position of artistic director of the music programme. In this context, she initiated, artistically directed and produced the international festival Izlog suvremenog zvuka. In addition to her musical work, she was active in the film industry for many years (Motovun Film Festival, Spiritus Movens, CineLink, Studio Dim), and then devoted herself fully to artistic and curatorial work, advanced training and specialization in the field of contemporary (experimental) music, sound art and related artistic genres. She is currently working as a musicologist and independent curator, and as an associate of KONTEJNER, where she is leading the international project Re-Imagine Europe. She is lecturing on "Sound as a Visual Artistic Expression" at the Department of Animation and New Media, Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. She publishes reviews and articles, writes texts for discographies and other publications.
